🔐 Password Guidelines

To help protect your account and personal information, we require all users to follow these password guidelines.

✅ Password Requirements

  • Be at least 8 characters long
  • Include at least:
    • 1 uppercase letter (A–Z)
    • 1 lowercase letter (a–z)
    • 1 number (0–9)
    • 1 special character (e.g., !@#$%^&*)
Example of a strong password:
R3li@ble!Code2025

🚫 Please Avoid Weak Passwords

  • Personal info (name, birthday, phone number)
  • Keyboard patterns or repeated characters like asdfgh or aaaaaaa

🧠 Why Secure Passwords Matter

Password strength isn't just about randomness — it's about how hard it is to guess. This is measured in entropy (randomness), which increases with:

  • Password length
  • Character variety (uppercase, lowercase, numbers, symbols)

Let's do the math:

Say you create a password using:

  • 26 lowercase letters
  • 26 uppercase letters
  • 10 numbers
  • 10 special characters

That's 72 possible characters per position.

If your password is 8 characters long, that's:
728 = 722.2 trillion combinations

That's much harder to crack than even a 6-character password using just lowercase letters:
266 = 308.9 million combinations

The longer and more diverse your password is, the longer it takes for a hacker to guess — even with powerful computers.
